The fires & floods

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

Our thoughts & love & prayers go to all those who are affected by the tragedies. It is such a sad time for so many. Thankfully, we hear the most amazing stories about resilience and strength – and the stories of people who have kept their sense of humour even during the saddest, toughest times. The human spirit is so strong.

The awakening of love, generosity, compassion & unity that is ignited in the hearts of so many is truely humbling to witness. Out of such tragedy comes forth so much greatness of spirit. May our prayers be the healing balm for those who are hurting.

Peace be with you.

Heartland this week (Friday 13th)

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

It’s a busy week cleaning up & preparing for the next guests. The wonderful rain we have had has blessed us with lush & green surroundings – that need mowing & whippersnipping & weeding. Our beautiful friend Ovidne taught me that everything I do in the garden is connected to what I am doing on a more personal level. So, if I am tidying up the garden edges I am defining my boundaries – both for myself and for others. Clearly defined garden edges lead to clearly defined personal boundaries. This is my intention when I am in the process of edging.

When I am weeding, I am weeding out far more than the plants that are in the wrong place – I am weeding out the thoughts that no longer serve my highest good. So each weed I pull  is another thought that I can pluck out and let go of. This way, weeding is not only good for the garden but good for the soul!

Richard has left the garden in our hands now – he has planted the crops and now we will try to visit the plants each day & give them some love & care. I always talk to the plants & love the garden and love nothing better than to walk barefoot and connect to mother earth. We just have to make room in the day for our connection to the earth. Perhaps our morning meditation can be carried out in the vegie patch! Instead of the smell of incense burning – it’s the smell of manure doing its job! I will keep you posted on how this is working. Blessings, Trudi

There are no prerequisites to visiting Heartland.

A recent guest shared a story with us today…. That she is able to share her experience of Heartland with everyone that she knows because we embrace people from all walks of life. You do not have to be a yoga devotee, or a follower of some religious doctrine or disciplined in some practice or ritual that is often part of other organisations. So long as you want to get in touch with your own  heart, then Heartland may be for you.

Here at Heartland we come from our hearts. We express our hearts in the best way that we are able. Les says that nothing matters except love. Love is the highest truth. Love is the way. Love is our way.

We hope to welcome you one day, to Heartland.

Blessings, Trudi x

We can all shine our light.

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Nicholas and I attended a funeral the other day, of a 16 years old girl who couldn’t walk or talk. Yet, within that body, lived a soul who touched the hearts and lives of many people. They talked about the gifts that she gave to them. They talked about the love that they shared with her. They shared that within her silence lived her Divine nature. I was deeply moved by the words of her family and friends.

It doesn’t matter what package we come in – we are each the spark of the Divine – and we each choose to come here to express this Divinity. We can simply touch the lives of those we meet by simply “Be-ing” ourselves. Our true nature. Our God-Light.

This family felt truly Blessed by God for the experience of loving their daughter/sister. She enriched their lives – and blessed their souls and touched their hearts. She will be deeply missed by them all.

As I was sitting in the church I got overwhelmed by the feeling that she was a highly evolved soul who had chosen this body to shine her light. It was meant to be. And now she has shined this light and love on the world around her, it was time to go home again. Back into the loving hands of God.

May we each shine our love & light to all we meet. Trudi x

February Fun

How time has seemingly sped up again! Life is full, abundant & joyful! Each day, allowing our “being-ness” to flow, rather than getting caught up in the “busy-ness” of life. To make room for God first, then all else flows from that centre of peace & love. This is what I am learning at the moment. It is a beautiful space to be in.

I will also share a couple of other things with you – a lovely guest reminded me of the story of “water off a duck’s back”. She wanted to change her last name to Duck. I liked that idea! J At times, we all get reminded to practice this – and what other people may say or think about us is really not our business and we should not take on that which isn’t true to us. Listen to our own  heart & soul – our own inner voice. People sometimes judge us – but its from their perspective, not ours. And as we have not walked in their shoes, how can we begin to understand their reasoning?  We simply learn to let go, let go, let go – and let God, as my mother used to tell me.

In this world of duality, it seems so funny that time can feel as though its going so fast that its hard to keep up, and yet at the same time – it can feel so slow! We have such perfect duality here! How often do we say “oh that happened ages ago” and yet it still feels like it was just last week. I started back at the yoga centre here the other day and the teacher and I spoke about how long its been since I was there. I am sure it was 2 years and she is sure it was 3! And yet, at the same time, it feels like it was only a few weeks ago!

We are all learning so much here at the moment. The joys of being in community. We are blessed having Maxeen here sharing time with us and giving so much of herself and her time to help. We are abundantly blessed. Thankyou sister.

And Richard is here developing the Heartland vegie garden and it seems every day I walk past everything has grown so much overnight! It is wonderful to see this in progress. It won’t be long before we can go & pick our food straight out of the garden & onto our plates for the freshest organic food around! How blessed is that?  Thankyou Richard for all of your hard work.

Til next time -  May you be truly Blessed. Trudi x
