12 day retreat

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Today we are completing a 12 day retreat, the first one we have done. It has all gone so well and its truly amazing how a group of “strangers” can come together and 12 days later we are “family”!!! It really is an fantastic feeling of oneness and harmony.

Each of us is so different and yet, we each share so much. We all opened our hearts to one another and none of us will ever be the same for it! There were tears and laughter, fears and faith, quiet contemplation and expressive joy!

Some painted their first painting. Some saw their first dingo. Some played their first drum. Some sculpted their first block of hebel. Some fed their first dolphin (and donkey!).

Some, perhaps for the first time, felt comfortable enough to share their story. How blessed we all are that we can open our hearts and share.

For Les and I, it doesn’t seem to matter how many early mornings we do, how many meals we prepare, how many talks are shared, how many late nights we have, how many jobs are still on the “to do” list – to us, we are the ones who are truly blessed.

Each and every day, we give such thanks to the Divine. We are living our purpose, simply being who we are.

Blessings to all,

Trudi

One beautiful guest left us today – and said “coming here was the best mistake I’ve ever made!”

She is not alone. Quite a few guests who haven’t looked at our website or who don’t know us at all, think we are  a health retreat.  They get here and suddenly realize they haven’t a clue what Heartland is about! But after the initial settling in period of just a few hours, most don’t want to leave when their stay is over. They feel safe & nurtured within the Heartland energy. When guests return here, they often say “ahhh… its so good to be home again”.

This is for us, so very special – and it makes all the hard work “behind the scenes” truly worth it! Les and I both feel so incrediably blessed to be a part of Heartland and to see the change in people once they learn to connect to their hearts.

Our main focus here is on connecting to the Divine within us. Once we have connected to that Universal Divine energy, the choices we make for our physical needs, our spiritual needs and for the needs of those around us, will be coming from a higher place of truth and love.

We are spirit, first and foremost – and we are experiencing the physical life in this form we know as our bodies. Its like we are one of those lamps with hundreds of optical fibres all coming into the centre light source and each one of us is one of those lights – one of those  Divine Lights – and the essence (or centre) of those lights is the Divine Essence. The all. And we are a part of that Divine All.

So, for today… how about practicing that you are the Light of Love & Peace & Truth. How will you speak to your children, your partner, your boss, your friend, your parent…..? How would you express the Divine nature which is you? Each day is an opportunity for us to unfold the Divine nature within.

In Love & Peace,

Trudi

Heartland first blog

Welcome to Trudi’s first blog page!

Les and I always had a dream… to run our own spiritual retreat centre. When we lived in Maleny we looked at some retreats that were available for sale and while they were quite beautiful, the prices way exceeded what we could afford. We were guided to the Gympie area and this is where we found our retreat which we know as “Heartland”. Home is definitely where our heart-land is!!

Heartland is a family run, 80 acre, working organic (macadamia) farm. We are also a spiritually based healing retreat that offers country hospitality and down to earth Spiritual development programmes. We teach meditation practices – guided visualization and crystal bowl meditations. Les teaches many different programmes ranging from Authentic Spiritual Healing 6 month course, to our 6 day – 5 night Healing Renewal. This is proving to be most popular and helpful to our guests. We can also offer extended programmes. We are not religious but we certainly recognise that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. We honour the God within us – and the God within everyone else. Whether you call this energy God – or Divine Consciousness or whatever you feel most comfortable with.

We have three cottages here (as well as the main house) which offer 13 private rooms, one double room has its own ensuite facility. We are not a profit driven business but one which wishes to share and uplift human kind. Of course in this physical world we need to pay our way – so we do so without charging an excessive amount – so we can best help as many people as we can – as well as being able to pay our way.

We believe that if we are guided by our hearts, our souls & our higher selves, then we can make better choices for ourselves and for others. We hope to inspire others to live by their hearts too. I am sure the world would be a much more loving place if we all connected more to our hearts – and less to our heads.

At the moment, we are still in development stages. We have yet to build our Temple, our  Healing centre, our organic vegie garden,  a meditation deck overlooking our large dam and various other planned buildings and improvements! We have quite a list of plans!!!  But for now, we are growing in many beautiful ways both within the buildings – and within ourselves. It is quite a journey we are undertaking! We are now painting the outside of our cottages (in some really beautiful colours!!) – and have almost finished installing air conditioners in all our guest bedrooms.

This week we are purchasing some trees to start to plant around our large dam. We are going to create an oasis at Heartland – and will even create our own beach! We have guests here at the moment, so during the week we will ask each person to honour the land and plant a tree with their loving energy. We want to bring back the trees, animals and plants here. We want to encourage the native animals to return. In this area there lives the red wallaby – which has decreased in numbers over the years. It is our intention to bring them home again – home to Heartland.

May peace guide you,

Love Trudi
